At first I thought it was my imagination, but the more times I have to clear that capcha, the more I am convinced of it.
There's gotta be an AI generating those images. Because many of those houses and shoes and jack o lanterns and strawberry cakes have the same image jank to them that I get when I use Craiyon to generate images from a string of text.
edit: Actually craiyon appears to be giving me nicer-looking results. Take a look.
Edit 2: now hCapcha is asking for bunnies while simultaneously giving green, pink, and weird-colored foxes.
Can we talk about hCapcha for a second here?

Yeah, and since we are supposed to click on the results, we train the AI to create even better results in the next run. Just like when we have to click on traffic lights, busses, etc. we might contribute to autonomic driving by training an AI.

Well well, colorful foxes aren't as cringe as marking men's trousers belts :V but most of us got used to it, I guess.
I'd say, less pants and hats, more bike riding ghosts please. I'm like "awww" everytime I see that. :3

Re: Can we talk about hCapcha for a second here?
Actually I got another one. It just asked for images of deserts. Apparently it doesn't like that among the images I selected were 2 images of the ocean.
Lemme teach you about the oddly loose definition of a desert. Everyone thinks, "yeah it's the dry sandy places with the cactus plants". You know what else is considered a desert? Antarctica, where there isn't enough rainfall in any given year. But there's another type of desert, which is relevant to the post at hand: hypoxic oceans. Places in the ocean that are so oxygen-deprived that nothing can live there. They are defined as deserts. Yeah, seriously.
Pictures of the ocean can be defined as deserts. But not according to the capcha AI.

Is anyone else just guessing what the captcha pictures are supposed to be at this point??
Cause, for the life of me, I can't decipher half of them anymore >.>
what kind of abomination is this??? it's actually terrifying

I have seen 2 seahorses that question my grasp on my dwindling sanity.
The first had a single horse leg with hoof attached to its back.
The second required you to click the center of its head but the head was off-panel.

I had those too, but with a horse tail on it's back and it's both terrifying to see and annoying if the 'head off-panel' keeps happening =_=

Welcome to the wonderful dystopian world of bots generating eldritch images to trip up other bots, and we have to train the image bots by identifying images for them in order to click some eggs.
