But there could be an option to turn it on/off and the default is on

Re: a little star added to shinies
This would either happen for everyone or not happen at all. There would not be an option applicable per user. :)
Reason being that adopt images are not generated on the fly, hence we can't show/hide the indicator for you while it would be visible for others. If this happens, it would be non intrusive, you don't have to worry. :)
That being said, I like this idea as well. So many times was I not sure whether it is a shiny or not.

I like the idea, but if it is a shiny promo? Maybe the star should be on one of the upper corners
Also why not a yellow star?

I didn't mean that users can turn it on/offKnuseron wrote:This would either happen for everyone or not happen at all. There would not be an option applicable per user.

Why not treat the shiny icon like an equip-able item, except showing up on a different part of the sprite?
A user can opt to "un-equip" it in the stats page, but it's "equipped" by default.
Although personally, i'm not sure why someone wouldn't want a shiny icon.. But the idea is there.

There are a lot of shinies which look very similar to their normal counterparts. Arm yourself with knowledge!
