Have you guys tried soft resetting for a shiny?

Post by alexwaston »

I'm soft resetting for a shiny Mudkip in my old Ruby game as we speak. I have confidence that it will appear shiny eventually so I'm still pretty energetic about this! This is my first time soft resetting so I'm kinda scared that the shiny wild pokemon would appear first. >_> But I'm still excited for it to shine nonetheless. I really hope this won't take me forever!

yes, many times, got some legendaries in the past, all the ultrabeasts is Ultrasun and lately all shiny fossils in Sword. its all about patience and stamina. works out best for me when watching videos or tv. some took only a few hours, others around two weeks.

I even had more luck in SoulSilver and the shiny chances there are WAY lower.

Mewtwo is just trolling me... 🙄

Yes but I've never had any luck doing it that way. I just prefer using other methods to get a shiny xD

Yes, once. Just wasted around 3 days and tried 1001 soft resets to get a shiny Dialga, then I gave up. My shiny luck is, besides Legends Arceus, very, very bad, and Brilliant Diamond wasn't any difference.

@Morgrem: That Kyurem looks amazing, your Wimpod is cute^^.

its a pity the starters in Scarlet and Violet will most likely be shiny locked. hopefully they won't lock the fossils, will definitely try on them, when shiny status is available cause i'am annoying x D

i can't tell what keeps me doing it, maybe its the fascination of being rewarded with something quite rare, although there is never a guaranty of getting the shiny. but i 'am that kind of person who enjoys repetitive stuff from time to time...i may become quite obsessive with it sometimes.

My first soft reset was the drifloon in platinum. It took months, but I got it.
I still soft reset/shiny hunt on the main games, almost daily. Currently doing rowlet on ultra moon.
