Pokemon types you always get wrong

Post by Cyrrior »

Today I was playing a game and had to think about Mawile and ever since that pokemon was realesed I'm having trouble getting its types correctly.
I always think it is a steel/dark pokemon, instead of pure steel (in the older games) or steel/fairy (in the newer games).
Another example is Pineco. No matter how many times I get it wrong, I simply can't remember that it's just a bug type, not a grass or grass/bug type.
Remembering Gothitelle and its evolutionary line as psychic pokemon instead of dark pokemon is another example ... or
that Aggron is steel/rock instead of steel/ground.
And those futuristic paradox Pokemon! Their types are just incredibly confusing.

So I was wondering ...
Which Pokemon’s type are you having trouble with?

Maybe writing it down here will finally help us remembering them a little bit better.

Oh yes, many years ago I was sure Lugia was a water/flying type instead of psychic/flying... that was caused by Ho-oh, which is fire-flying legendary and part of the Johto duo.
Another one was Kangaskhan, to me it was always ground type instead of normal. I was also wrong with Miltank type after watching anime episode in which Miltank was constantly using rollout - a ground type move...
And of course, Porygon - not psychic, but normal type. When it isn't even "normal", but uh, rather digital? :?

(That's for now, but I guess there's more mons I might have trouble with)

Ah, yeah, I thought Lugia was a water/flying type too! I think mainly because it's always depicted near/in the ocean.
Another gen 2 legendary I got wrong for a pretty long time was Suicune. I always thought the legendary trio in gen 2 was basically mirroring gen 1, so I thought Raikou was electric (like Zapdos), Entei fire (like Moltres) and Suicune ice (like Articuno). It took me many years to find out that it was actually a water type :D

oh dear...i tend to mix up a lot of them, especially pokemon i don't use in the games very often or simply forget about their existence : x

i get most of the typings wrong cause i see the TCG versions of the pokemon on a daily base. sometimes in the TCG pokemon have a different typing than they use to have in the games and some types even don't exist at all like poison.

somehow i mix up psychic pokemon more than others and i mostly get the second type wrong if a pokemon is a dualtype and i don't see or use it very often.

Hmm... some dual types are tricky. I never really knew the point of making double type with normal... I mean, it's normal, so that means it can't be electric/fire/grass etc. I always thought normal seems powerless. Normal/+other or other/+normal types are a joke to me. :?
