Re: Turn Up the Heat

Post by yankeesrule3526 »

Days after the second parade, the weather in Kitakami hadn’t shown any signs of taking extreme forms again. It was sunny out, with only a few white clouds like fluffy Wooloos in the sky.

“So? What do you think? Are the gods soothed?” the Bidoof, who predicted it wrong the first time, hesitantly asked.
The Machamp sighed. “We can’t be sure, but it certainly looks like we did it. Anyway, we can’t keep the festival running for much longer. We need to till the paddy fields that were destroyed by the weather. And we have to care for the apple orchards as well, so we have a rich harvest next year! Let’s hope for the best that the gods don’t decide to mess up our plans again.”
“I’ll tell the others.” the Plump Mouse Pokémon nodded and started walking towards the food booths.
“Tell them to keep the booths intact! Just in case we need them again!” the Superpower Pokémon called.

Ho-Oh was flapping its wings in panic. It had been a trap right from the start! The Rainbow Pokémon had to witness Moltres getting captured in a fire-proof net and hauled in like a catch in the sea, right in front of its eyes.
Ho-Oh knew it wasn’t fast enough to escape. And so it fought. And so it lost.
When another net on a rope closed around its body, it looked into the eyes of its captor. An Alakazam in a doctor’s overall.

Doctor Victor stared right back at the Legendary Pokémon, while giving orders to his assistants. “Reel it in! If it escapes, I’ll be using your energy as a power source, and I doubt that you’d last very long!”
“Yes, boss!”

The Rainbow Pokémon gave up struggling against the net. It was to no use. Scornfully, it looked at the doctor below, who stood on the storm-battered coast, his arms behind his back and just staring into its eyes, while his assistants were reeling in the winch that was connected to the net. A net that had brought down Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres already, which were now being transported away. Just like Ho-Oh would soon be.
One final feeble caw escaped its beak.

And from the darkest depths of the ocean, a powerful roar answered.

Lugia is available via the Match game Diving Pack, but only while it is raining.
Since release, we have also implemented a limit to how many you can win (5 normal and 2 shiny) to limit how many will exist by the end of the month.

As for me, not a single for today.

I think we can't win because we already have more than 5 regular. The only hope is to get a shiny version :)

And I saw today Eleve won 2 shiny Lugia.

That was before the weather changed, though.

The Match card pack might be there, but Lugia isn't.

As mentioned above by Yankee, Lugia only appears when it is raining. You CAN play the match pack on other days but you can only win coins then >w<'

“No. Just no! No more strange eggs near our town!” the stern Cyclizar shook his head. In front of him, the apple orchard was filled with dark-colored eggs that were occasionally buzzing with electricity. They were all over the place, some were covered in the mud of the rain-sodden ground, while others were stopped by the treetops of the apple trees. “Get our electric Pokémon to gather them and ship them off!”
“Sorry to interrupt you, but we found a lot of these in the water of the paddy fields.” an Oranguru behind the Cyclizar held up another egg. It was colored in different shades of brown, with a bit of moss covering the surface of the shell.
“Then those can be shipped off as well! We had enough trouble with the chaos that the Toedscools caused, we don’t need another disaster that endangers the harvest!” the Cyclizar commanded.
“Sure, boss.” the Oranguru sauntered off again.

And thus the Pokémon of Kitakami lived in ignorance about what would hatch from the strange new eggs they found. Maybe it would have been of help for them, but their curiosity had been tainted by the recent events, and in the end, they just wanted to return to their normal, boring lives, without any more surprises waiting for them. And so they did.

One person's pest is another person's pet. I'll happily take those eggs off their hands and give them the love and care they deserve! <3

The Diving Pokémon tore through the surface of the ocean like a Decidueye’s arrow quill that was piercing its foes’ weak points. Majestically, Lugia emerged from the waves using the momentum to propel itself higher into the air, dragging a spiral of water with it. It was getting slower the higher it escalated, but before it stopped on its own, Lugia spread its wings, and it felt like time was standing still. The rain stopped falling, and the heavy drops just hung midair, defying gravity.
The Legendary Pokémon looked around, before it noticed a lonely Alakazam standing on the coastline, his arms behind his back and looking… amused? Challenging? Then Lugia spotted the others. Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres, but also his fellow Ho-Oh were forced to the ground by large nets, and the Alakazam’s helpers were dragging them into portable cages on vans.

For a moment, it looked like Lugia prepared to attack. Dr. Victor wished for it to attack. He stared into the eyes of the legend, with a hint of a grim smile on his face. He felt rather victorious right now. It had been a good day. Capturing four Legendary Pokémon with a chance of adding a fifth to his collection of power sources was quite an achievement for an ordinary Friday.
But then, the Diving Pokémon turned around and began to fly off.
“Get it!” Dr. Victor commanded and one of his many helpers cast another net in Lugia’s direction.

Whatever this Alakazam did to its fellow Legendary Pokémon, it knew that if he managed to capture them, he would be able to capture Lugia as well. And so it decided to flee. From the corner of its eye, it spotted the newly thrown net coming closer, and dodged it at the last second. Ho-Oh’s desperate cry for help hasn’t been meant for Lugia, but for a power far greater than any of them. Lugia was just the messenger. And as such, its job was to find the Pokémon with the power to stop this madness from continuing. It flapped its wings and the raindrops started falling down again, creating a veil that obscured Lugia’s form.

“Damn it…” Dr. Victor mumbled as the Legendary Pokémon vanished. “Let’s get back into the hideout. I don’t want the creator to find me again!”
“Sir? There have been rumors. Are they true? That you’ve faced the creator once?” the assistant next to him asked, while quickly reeling in the empty net.
Dr. Victor stared thoughtfully at the ocean, before answering. “You aren’t getting paid for talking about nonsensical rumors!” Then he turned around and walked over to the van that was waiting for him.
“Of course not. In fact, I’m not getting paid at all.” the assistant quietly grumbled, before packing in the net and then quickly following the doctor to the vehicle.

Poor regal birds. I wanna hug them. And launch a swarm of Beedrill right at Dr. Evil's face. Looking forward to when Lugia finds help.
