Congratz to mauwie, the vulpix is very sweet.
Like many others here, I hoped for more than one winner in this contest…
They would look so nice in our boxes, wouldn’t they? T^T

Congratz to mauwie, her entry was really nice (though after browsing through all the entries I have to say, other entries was cool too).
Since there's an uproar about her entry, I borrowed a method of comparing traced pictures from my friend. What you will think about that is up to you, guys.
For bodyFor tails
It IS very similar, but Vulpix is a Pokemon easy to draw, after practicing you can get effect of "original" artwork. Personally I think it's work done "from zero", not traced.

First of all: Congratz to mauwie. The vulpix is quite cute.
I can understand the discussion about the design and the choice of the pokemon.
This year's almost over but maybe an idea for the next contests: Why don't you let the users choose? Make a poll, every user got 1 point to give to his favourite entry.

It is very unlikely a poll will happen, it may turn into a popularity contest.

1) Only users that are longer than 3 months on VA can participate on the poll. The time would be free to choose for the admins.
2) You just see the entries. No names, just the entries and the option to choose that entry.

I also like this idea. Maybe the judges could make a pre-decision with their top 5 entries and then the users are able to vote for their favorite via a poll.
So there would be a kind of quality control before.

Yea, this might be the best way for ensuring that there are just "serious" entries owoAshtrayHeart wrote:I also like this idea. Maybe the judges could make a pre-decision with their top 5 entries and then the users are able to vote for their favorite via a poll.

I also like that
First let all members of the stuff vote, then all users with an accout that is at least 1 month old.

I thought of a poll, too, but I have to agree that this would be even more a popularity contest. Poluparity of Pokémon and artist.

Re: A Special Kind of Contest - Winners!
Ryou_Kimura, and what about sending in the entries via PM? That would be anonymous. The judges could create a PM folder just for contest entries to collect them there.

Re: A Special Kind of Contest - Winners!
About popularity: Look at the discussion. Many wanted a different pokemon to win. At least a different than we had before like Purrloin. I think this pokemon is quite popular.
What if only the admins/ the jury could see this thread with all the entries? And the final 5-10 would be visible for every user but without a username/censored username?
